Hearing aids on subscription: why renting can pay off

Hearing aids on subscription: why renting can pay off

In short

In the subscription you pay a fixed monthly amount for your hearing aids, from 34 € per ear after the insurer's contribution is deducted. Maintenance, repairs, batteries or rechargeable battery and loss protection are included. If you buy, you pay once and own the device. Which option is cheaper depends on how long you wear it and how much security you want.

How the hearing aid subscription works

Instead of a purchase price, you pay a monthly amount. It covers everything you need for your fitting:

  • The hearing aids in the technology class you choose, from Basis+ to First Class
  • Initial fitting and all fine-tuning, as many appointments as it takes
  • Maintenance and cleaning, regularly in the store
  • Batteries or rechargeable battery, depending on the device
  • Repairs, without an extra bill
  • Loss protection, if a device is lost or breaks

The insurer's contribution is deducted and lowers your monthly amount.

What the subscription costs

The monthly amounts per ear, after the insurer's contribution is deducted:

Classsubscription per ear per month
Basis+from 34 €
Economy Classfrom 49 €
High Classfrom 64 €
Premium Classfrom 79 €
First Classfrom 94 €

What distinguishes the classes, which listening situations they recognise automatically and what you pay when you buy is on our pricing page.

Subscription or purchase: the honest comparison

What speaks for the subscription

  • No large sum at once. You pay a predictable amount each month.
  • No surprises. Repairs, batteries, loss: all included in the price.
  • Current technology. After the minimum term you can switch to a newer model.
  • Good for first-time wearers who do not yet know which class they need in the long run.

What speaks for buying

  • The device belongs to you. After payment there are no further amounts, only batteries if there is no rechargeable battery.
  • Often cheaper over six years if nothing breaks and you do not want a newer model.
  • No contract with a term.
  • Insurer's contribution every six years anew, when buying as in the subscription.

A worked example

Take the Economy Class: 49 € per ear per month, 98 € for both ears. Over six years that is 7,056 €, and it includes maintenance, repairs, batteries, loss protection and the option to switch to a newer device along the way. If you buy, you pay the device price of the class once, plus batteries and repairs outside the warranty over the years. You can see the purchase price on the pricing page under "Zum Kaufen". Which option is cheaper for you, we work out in the appointment with the real numbers.

Who the subscription is worthwhile for

  • Anyone who does not want to pay a large sum at once
  • Anyone who likes fixed monthly costs
  • Anyone who always wants to wear current technology
  • Anyone who does not want to take care of anything: maintenance, repairs and batteries are covered
  • Anyone wearing hearing aids for the first time who will only find the right class in daily life
  • Anyone who depends on their devices at work and needs a replacement quickly if one fails

How to start

  1. Free hearing test in one of our stores
  2. Consultation: we work out your monthly amount with your insurer's contribution
  3. Choice of device and fitting
  4. Trial wearing over several weeks, without obligation
  5. Start the subscription, only once you are convinced

Term and cancellation

The minimum term is usually 24 months, the notice period three months to the end of the term. After the minimum term you can switch to a newer model or move to buying; amounts already paid are then credited proportionally. The exact terms are in your contract, and we go through them with you before you sign.

Questions?

The subscription is still new in hearing care, and questions about it are normal. We take our time for them, in Glückstadt, Horst, Wedel, Barmstedt and Itzehoe.

Book your free consultation, and we will work out both options for you.

The next step

Do not wait until hearing loss noticeably limits your daily life. The earlier you act, the better the results.

A question about advertising and reviews

If you come to us through one of our ads, or want to see the reviews widget in the bottom-left corner, we ask for your permission first. If you agree, we keep a note of which ad it was in a cookie (ea_attr) for 90 days and load the Google tag from Google Ads. It sets its own cookies (_gcl_…) and tells Google when you book an appointment, send an inquiry or tap one of our phone numbers, so we can see which ads work. Google does not learn your name or contact details, and we do not use it for personalised advertising.

We also then load our partner ProvenExpert GmbH's reviews widget directly from their servers. This can send your IP address to ProvenExpert and let them set a cookie.

If you decline, nothing changes for you except that the reviews widget stays hidden. You can change your choice at any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.
